The Operations Management and Information Systems program prepares students for professional careers relating to the analysis, design, implementation, and management of operations and information systems in organizations. Practical exposure to operations analysis, logistics, project management, and leading-edge information technologies, together with in-depth participation on team projects provides students with the knowledge, communication skills, and leadership experience that are demanded by today's business organizations.
As more and more of the world is run by technology, developing the skills to provide the tools, operate the mechanisms, and research new avenues of improvement and innovation become the keys to the future. Operations Management and Information Systems (OMIS) —with its three sub areas of information systems, operations management, and quantitative methods—provides students with this cutting-edge knowledge. The OMIS program is an elective building on the York University BBA (or iBBA) program.
