Learn from a Role Model

"The presentation was informative! I didn't know that so many jobs required technology, and it is so easy to connect what you like to do with technology." – Grade 10 Student

Figuring out a career path is tough when you don’t have much first-hand experience with workplaces. It’s even more of a challenge to explore technology careers, because the exciting field moves so quickly. How can you learn about your options in tech from inside a classroom? With a CareerMash Role Model as your tour guide, of course!

Our Role Models work in cutting-edge tech jobs, so they can give you and your classmates the inside scoop on how to prepare yourself for the newest generation of careers in the field. We currently offer the program in greater Toronto and Kitchener-Waterloo, and it’s coming soon to Hamilton, Brantford, Kingston, London, St. Catharines, and Windsor.

What kinds of people sign up to be Role Models, you ask? Some of them have been profiled on CareerMash. For example, Chris Barless taught himself how to develop web apps for Pilot Interactive, a creative digital agency run by entrepreneurs in their twenties!

Microsoft Canada’s Lin Chen is training to become a technical account manager in an elite orientation program for new college graduates. Not only are both of their jobs in high demand, they’re also totally different! The range of options in tech is diverse enough to offer something interesting for anyone.

If you’re still not convinced, see what some of our students, teachers and Role Models have to say about the program on the testimonials page. So what are you waiting for? Ask your teacher to contact CareerMash to discuss the program, or go ahead and holler at us yourself! In the meantime, check out some of our Meet The Pros profiles for a taste of what the Role Model program can offer in person.
